Roman tombstone. This gravestone was set up by Lucius Arruntius Salvianus to his son, Au[~.]dus. The boy's name is on the second line and has mostly been lost. Salvianus describes him as 'his deserving and most devoted son' and records that he was 'nine years and nine months' old when he died (second or third century, Arbeia Roman Fort).
